Terms of Use
Last updated 27 September 2026
These terms apply when you use ID Link. Please read them. They include limits on our liability (section 13) and your responsibilities when you submit documents (sections 4 and 5).
1. About these terms
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) apply to your use of ID Link, including the website at https://www.idlink.site, your account and the identity verification service (together, the “Service”). ID Link is operated by ByteCraft Solutions Ltd. (“ByteCraft”, “we”, “us”).
By creating an account, or by submitting a verification, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. Our Privacy Notice explains how we handle your personal data and forms part of these Terms.
Businesses that use ID Link to verify their own customers do so under a separate written agreement with us. If that agreement conflicts with these Terms, the agreement prevails for that business.
2. What the Service does, and what it does not
ID Link lets you submit an identity document, the identity details you declare and a selfie, so that a trained reviewer can assess whether the document appears genuine, whether your details match it, and whether you appear to be the person pictured.
A verification result:
- is a professional assessment made on the information and images provided, at the time it was made;
- is not a guarantee, warranty or certification of anyone’s identity, character, eligibility, creditworthiness or legal status;
- is not a check against government databases. Unless we tell you otherwise in writing, we do not have access to them.
Any business that relies on a result remains solely responsible for its own customer due diligence, anti-money laundering and other legal obligations, and for its own decisions.
3. Eligibility and your account
- You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to agree to these Terms.
- You may only have an account for yourself, and only verify your own identity.
- Keep your sign-in details secure. You are responsible for activity on your account. Tell us straight away at enquiries@bytecraftsolutions.org if you think someone else has used it.
4. What you agree to
When you use the Service, you confirm and agree that:
- every document you submit is genuine, unaltered, valid and issued to you;
- every detail you declare is true, accurate and complete;
- every selfie is a live, unedited photo of you, taken at the time;
- you have the right to give us the information you submit, and you will keep your account details accurate.
5. What you must not do
- submit another person’s document or image, or a forged, altered, expired or copied document;
- impersonate anyone, or use the Service to commit or help commit fraud, identity theft or any other offence;
- use photos of screens, printouts, masks, deepfakes or any other means to deceive a reviewer;
- probe, scan or test the security of the Service, or try to access data or accounts that are not yours, without our written permission. Report vulnerabilities to enquiries@bytecraftsolutions.org instead;
- copy, scrape, reverse engineer, overload or interfere with the Service, or use automated means to access it;
- use the Service in breach of any law.
6. Verification decisions
- We decide whether to approve, reject or ask for more information at our sole discretion, applying our own review standards. We are not obliged to approve any verification.
- We will give a short reason when a verification is not approved. We do not have to disclose our review methods, fraud indicators or internal notes.
- Review times shown are estimates, not commitments.
- We may change or withdraw a decision if we later learn that it was based on false, misleading or incomplete information.
7. Suspected fraud and legal requests
If we suspect fraud, identity misuse or other unlawful activity, we may suspend the verification or your account, keep the relevant records, and report it to the police, the Financial Intelligence Unit or other authorities where the law requires or permits us to. We may not be allowed to tell you that we have done so.
8. Fees
Verifying your own identity with ID Link is free for individuals unless we tell you otherwise before you start. Fees for businesses are set out in their separate agreement.
9. Our intellectual property
The Service, including its software, design, text and the ID Link name and logo, belongs to ByteCraft or its licensors. You may use the Service only as these Terms allow. You keep ownership of the documents and images you submit, and you give us permission to use them to provide the Service and as described in our Privacy Notice.
10. Third-party services
Parts of the Service rely on third parties, such as our sign-in, hosting and email providers. We are not responsible for services we do not control, including a business’s own website or app that sends you to ID Link.
11. Availability and changes to the Service
We work to keep the Service available and secure, but we do not promise that it will be uninterrupted, error-free or available at any particular time. We may change, suspend or discontinue any part of the Service, including for maintenance, security or legal reasons.
12. Disclaimers
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service and every verification result are provided “as is” and “as available”. We make no warranties or representations, express or implied, including about accuracy, completeness, fitness for a particular purpose, or that a result will be accepted by any third party, beyond those that cannot be excluded by law.
13. Limits on our liability
Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes liability that cannot lawfully be limited or excluded, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
Subject to that, and to the fullest extent permitted by law:
- we are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss, or for any loss of profit, revenue, business, opportunity, goodwill or data, however it arises;
- we are not liable for any loss arising from a decision made by you or any third party in reliance on a verification result, from information or documents that were false, altered or incomplete, or from events outside our reasonable control;
- our total liability to you for all claims arising out of or relating to the Service or these Terms, whether in contract, tort (including negligence) or otherwise, is limited to the greater of (a) the total fees you paid us for the Service in the 12 months before the claim arose, and (b) TT$500.
14. Your responsibility for misuse
You agree to compensate ByteCraft, and its directors, employees and contractors, for any claims, losses, liabilities and reasonable costs (including legal fees) that arise from your breach of these Terms, from false or unlawfully obtained information or documents you submit, or from your misuse of the Service.
15. Suspension and closing your account
We may suspend or close your account, or refuse or stop a verification, at any time if we reasonably believe you have broken these Terms, if required by law, or to protect the Service, other users or the public.
You can stop using the Service at any time and ask us to close your account at enquiries@bytecraftsolutions.org. Some records may be kept after closure, as our Privacy Notice explains. Sections 7 and 12–18 continue to apply after your account closes.
16. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The date at the top shows when they last changed. If a change is material, we will tell you before it takes effect. If you keep using the Service after that, you accept the updated Terms.
17. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of Trinidad and Tobago. If a dispute arises, please contact us first so we can try to resolve it informally. If it is not resolved within 30 days, it will be decided by the courts of Trinidad and Tobago, which will have exclusive jurisdiction, unless the law gives you the right to bring proceedings elsewhere.
18. General
- These Terms, with our Privacy Notice, are the whole agreement between you and us about the Service.
- If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect.
- If we don’t enforce a right straight away, we can still enforce it later.
- We may transfer our rights and obligations under these Terms to another organisation, for example as part of a sale or reorganisation. You may not transfer yours.
- We are not responsible for delays or failures caused by events outside our reasonable control, such as outages of third-party providers, natural disasters or acts of government.
